Inovia Capital raises $600m venture funds

Inovia Capital, the Canadian VC firm, has raised two new funds totalling US$600 million: an early-stage fund of $200 million; and a growth-stage of $400 million. The funds will be invested in its existing markets in Canada and Silicon Valley, as well as through a new office in London.

Vicarious Surgical raises $10m for product development

Vicarious Surgical, a company working on minimally-invasive surgery, has raised a further $10 million from Gates Frontier, Khosla Ventures, Innovation Endeavours, AME Cloud Ventures, and Marc Benioff.

Aetna and Apple partner on Attain digital health tracking app

Aetna, the health insurer, has collaborated with Apple to develop a new health app for its customers. Through the use of an Apple Watch, the Attain app will provide Aetna customers with personalised goals, track their daily activity levels, recommend healthy actions, and ultimately reward them for taking these actions to improve their well-being.
