C-19: symptom reporting app launched by King's College London

King’s College London has launched a COVID-19 symptom-tracking app in the UK. The aim is to help slow the outbreak by tracking in real time:

  • How fast the virus is spreading geographically 
  • High-risk areas in the UK
  • Who is most at risk, by better understanding symptoms linked to underlying health conditions

The app is free to use, and lets anyone record health information on a daily basis in less than one minute.

MedCrypt raises $5.3 million as concerns for medtech cybersecurity grow

MedCrypt, a medical device cybersecurity software provider, has closed a Series A round of $5.3 million, led by Section 32, with participation from Eniac Ventures and Y Combinator. The funds will be used for sales and marketing, and for product development.

Gustave Roussy Institut to use blockchain for data in cancer drug trials

The Gustave Roussy Institut, a cancer centre in France, is to deploy blockchain in data-sharing applications for oncology research. The technology will be built in partnership with Embleema, a developer of a healthcare blockchain network, and will be used to improve transparency, patient safety and patient engagement in clinical trials.
