Vicarious Surgical, a company working on minimally-invasive surgery, has raised a further $10 million from Gates Frontier, Khosla Ventures, Innovation Endeavours, AME Cloud Ventures, and Marc Benioff.
The company combines virtual reality with human-like surgical robotics to enable surgeons to perform minimally-invasive surgery through a single micro-incision. It will use the new funds to develop a commercial product.
Founded by Adam Sachs and Sammy Khalifa, the company has raised $20 million in three previous rounds since its inception in 2015. The latest funding follows its Series A of $16.8 million in April 2018, from the same investors.
“With an expanded team driving toward their first product, Vicarious Surgical is rapidly achieving their mission of using miniaturized robotics and immersive virtual reality to give surgeons improved capabilities,” said Dror Berman, Founding Partner of Innovation Endeavors. “We are excited to continue our commitment to Vicarious Surgical and to the super evolution of surgery.”
